Second Peter 1:19 says, “And we have the prophetic word made more firm, to which you do well to give heed as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.”
At a conference in the spring of 2017, we ran into brother M. C. in an elevator. Knowing that we write music, he said, “We should collaborate sometime.” A few days later, he sent us a poem expressing the believers’ longing for the Lord’s appearing as the morning star and asked if we could compose music for it. H. J. of @Melody of Lilies wrote a tune, and this hymn is the result!
